Material distribution programs at different places

Nuwakot

On Thursday, 15th of December 2016, Blind Women Association-Nepal (BWAN) distributed educational and assistive materials to12 Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) children studying at Chandeshori Higher Secondary school, Nuwakot. Educational and assistive materials distribution program aimed to provide educational and assistive materials to children studying in Chandeshori School at Tupche, Nuwakot, a hilly and undeveloped area, and to provide winter clothes to men and women with visual impairments in Nuwakot.

Mahottari

Our association has distributed assistive materials like sweaters, clothes, and nets, in collaboration with Child Heaven Caneda Nepal, at Mahottari district on 13th January 2017.

Udayapur

In collaboration with Pasang Lahmu Foundation, Dhumbharahi, our Association distributed White cane, chess board, school bag, clothes to 26 Blind and visually impaired students on 30th January,2017.

Parbat

      In collaboration with PrayasNepal, Baluwatar, BWAN has distributed different educational materials, including brail paper, chess boards, stylus, clothes, and bags, to BVI students of Sivalaya Ma.BI. of Parbat district on 21st April, 2017.

Rupandehi

BWAN has distributed Pendrive and Player to the  15 blind and visually impaired  students studying at plus two level  of Rupendehi district in collaboration with Balsadan(बालसदन)and Unterdristi(अन्तरदृष्टि नेपाल) Nepal on 29th May,2017.

Bardiya

In collaboration with Unterdristi Nepal and Sangrila Home BWAN distributed Brail paper, White Cane, Bag and Chess Board to 15 blind and visually impaired students of Nepal Rastriya Higher Secondary school of Bardiya District on 15th June 2017.

Celebrating Helen Keller Day with special function

BWAN has organized a special ceremony in the occasion of 137th International Helen Keller Day in collaboration with Nepal Association of the blind (NAB) which took place in Paryatan Board at Bhrikutimandav, Kathmandu on 17th June,2017. There were 73 participants including guests, representatives and the organizers who did the contribution to accomplish the programme in successful manner. In that programme, the children of BVI parents were provided educational materials including school uniforms, blind couples who are under the poverty, provided seed money to start the small business, awarding three BVI girls who were achieving GPA 3.65 in SEE 2073 two BVI girls were distributed scholarship as a token support to continue their higher level education.

Teej Celebration program

BWAN organized Teej celebration programme aiming to promote the cultural rights of Women with Visually Impairment which was held on 20th August, 2017 at the hall of AmritVogCatrus, Kalikasthan,Dilibazar,Kathmandu, Nepal. The entire participant including the invitees, guests, WWDs/GWDs equally took part in dancing and singing. All of them were also enjoyed with delicious food called dar. It is noted that the 6th general assembly of BWAN and Teej celebration programme was organized in the same day and the hall and food (Dar) was provided by Mr. BinodPodar, the proprietor of the AmritVogCatrus.

Relief Materials Distribution for Flood Victims

This association provided relief materials to the flood victims especially the family of persons with disabilities including Chepang Community of MakwanpurDistrict On 6th September, 2017 in collaboration with Makawanpur Association of the Blind, NAB Rehabilitation Center, Hetauda and DibyaJyoti Foundation. 30 persons were benefitted from this distribution programme. 10 sacks of clothes, 12 Blankets and grocery materials such as rice, pulses, cooking oil etc. were distributed to the victims. For purchasing the grocery materials, BWAN did a fund raising among its executive members, well-wishers and its own staff. From that campaign, BWAN collected 17,255 rupees from which the necessary groceries were purchased through that money and remaining relief materials were collected individually
